Razia is a college student. She is one of the college toppers and the University rank holder. Razia is about to complete her college life and she wants to fulfill the biggest wish of hers before her college life ends and it is nothing but reciting Azaan, the Islamic prayer. Was she able to fulfill her wish? Who all pulled her down? The film has the answers to all these.
Anaswara hadn’t performed but lived as Razia. She fits well in the role and her facial expressions and body language are fantastic. Sarala Balussery did justice to the given role. The rest of the stars supported her well.
It is a bold attempt by Kavya, the director and interestingly, this is her debut as a director. The screenplay is interesting and the scenes are neatly designed without any lag. The characters are finely scripted and the stars are perfectly picked. A couple of scenes and a song in the second half could have been cut short, as it dragged the film unnecessarily. The rest of the film is fine in all aspects that include acting, direction, cinematography and production values.
What’s Not There?
Vaanku is a good film with performance and some message to society. For the bold attempt of Kavya and the performance of the main stars, the film is watch-worthy!
