Plot
Anju works in a textile shop. She is in love with Rajiv. But Rajiv is an unemployed guy. Anju warns him to search for a job, or she will be married to a person of her family’s choice. Finally, it happened and she exchanged rings with Thomas Kutty, son of Leelamma. After getting married, she moves to her husband’s old yet big house in Kuttanad. Within no time after their wedding, Thomas Kutty falls ill, and Anju has to become a caretaker rather than his wife. Leelamma showers her love for Anju. Meanwhile, Anju reconnects with Rajiv, who assures her that he will get a better job than the one he is doing now. Soon, Thomas Kutty breathes his last. It is the time when their house stumbles due to a deluge. Thomas Kutty’s funeral gets delayed, and this brings a lot of secrets to get opened. What are the secrets that came out? The rest of the film deals with the existence of relationships, secrets, and practicality.
Star Performance
Urvashi… What a performance?! She always stuns the audience with her natural performance. Her body language, dialogue delivery, and her expressions are stunning as usual. Her chemistry with Parvathy is fantastic. Parvathy is fine as Anju. Sometimes, her silence speaks. Expressing through eyes is Parvathy’s one of the specialties and the actress catches the audience’s eyeballs with her compelling performance.
Analysis
Christo’s scripting is admirable. His screenplay and executions are classy. We don’t know how the film would shine at the box office, but it glows beautifully with the story, screenplay, performances, and execution. The director’s touch is something important in certain places where the dialogues are simple yet strong. Urvashi’s dialogues and her deep thinking scenes bring the director’s touch. Even the scenes in which Parvathy looks bland and sees Urvashi are fantastically captured and take us into the story. The visuals are so naturally captured, and we feel like we are present with the characters in the flooded house. The BGM is compelling and gels well with the situation.
