In his initial stages of his career, Krishnamurthy got himself associated with acclaimed theater personalities. Gubbi Veeranna, B R Panthulu and Mohammed Peer were some of the notable personalities with whom Krishnamurthy worked. His forte is mythological flicks and some such films that he directed include, Bhakta Kumbara, Satya Harishchandra and Babru Vahana. Rajkumar starred in all of these films. These films gained great appreciation and are a landmark in Kannada cinema. The career of Rajkumar also bloomed with these films. Born on February 9, 1914, Krishnamurthy did his initial schooling in Hunsur, and pursued his high school education in Mysore. Before venturing into films, Krishnamurthy tested waters as a playwright in theater. Swarga Samrajya is a play written by him. Eventually, he got himself involved in Bharat Nataka Company by working as a scenarist and playwright. Later he worked in Bombay Talkies. After this, he got himself associated with Bal Gandharva’s theater troupe.
Krishnamurthy started his film career mainly as a dialogue writer. He wrote dialogues for films such as Krishnaleele and Hemareddy Mallamma. He also penned the screenplay for these flicks. Kanyadana, Sodari and Devakannika are some of the films for which he wrote lyrics. The 1958 flick Shri Krishna Gaarudi is the debut directorial endeavor of Krishnamurthy. This is a mythological film. The 1965 flick Satya Harishchandra received the Best Feature Film in Kannada Award from the National Award jury. This film is still remembered by Kannada audiences. The 1977 flick Veera Sindhoora Lakshmana was also a great success.
Krishnamurthy was instrumental in the entry of actors M P Shankar and Rajesh into the film industry. Shyama Sundar Kulkarni wrote the biography of Krishnamurthy. Krishnamurthy has indeed made an outstanding contribution to Kannada film industry and is regarding with great revere even today.

V Nagendra Prasad is a lyricist, music director, director and an actor in the Kannada film industry. He was born on 3rd December 1975 to ‘MV Venkata Ramanappa’ and ‘Chandramma’ in Nagamangala, Karnataka. Prasad completed his schooling in Bangalore. Born on 24th March, 1966, Sadhu Kokila, also known as Kokila Sadhu, hails from a family of musically inclined people. His father was a violinist in a music group of Karnataka Police Department. His sister and mother are singers. Layendra, Kokila’s brother, is also an actor. Kokila pursued his schooling at St. Joseph’s Indian High School in Bangalore. Kannada star Upendra provided him with the name Sadhu Kokila.
Kokila kickstarted his career in the film industry as a musician and eventually he was referred to Kasturi Shankar, another musician. He has the reputation of being one of the swiftest keyboard players in India. Kokila has helmed direction for 12 Kannada flicks, and 6 of them were remakes. His directorial venture Anarkali was dropped midway.
Kokila expresses that audiences and the media question whether his films are a remake or original. He had made up his mind not to endeavor in remakes. He feels that composing music requires a lot of creativity. As far as his comedy stint is concerned, he is loved by the audience. And about acting he feels that it is exciting. Sadhu Kokila has received awards for music direction twice.
As far as remakes are concerned Kokila is of the view that there are creative limitations. But originals are enjoyable both in the sense of creativity and visualization. Sadhu Kokila along with Doddanna make a good pair for situation comedies. Kokila is compared with Johnny Lever of Bollwyood,for his comedy skills.
On his personal front, Kokila is wedded to Saleena. They are blessed with two sons.
