Plot
The film revolves around Tejas, a chartered accountant who harbors the aspirations of becoming an author. His mundane existence takes a unique turn when he encounters Abhay, who is the creation of his own imagination. As Tejas grapples with this surreal encounter, the film asks an important question: does the writer write the story, or does the story choose its writer?
Star Performances
The main reason why this film clicks is the conviction of the creator, Surya Vasishta. As a writer, director [and one of the co-leads], he carries almost the entire film on his shoulders.
Surya’s vision is given strong support by cinematographer Ananth Bharadwaj and musician Udit Harithas, who are the other two assets of this gem of a film.

’, nor something intriguing like ‘Mulholland Drive’. It is the journey of an aspiring writer, and how he transcends the lines of surrealism and reality in his quest to churn out a compelling story.
A disclaimer: This film is not for regular mass masala lovers. However, for those who have a different taste for cinema, this film is more than a welcome surprise. The screenplay is gripping, offering surprises with every transition. The visuals are stunning, reminding some of the Telugu classic ‘Awe’, made on an identical theme in 2018.
The acting performances are also brilliant. Surya Vashishta and Deepak Subramanya are the star performers of this film. Deepak’s initial hesitation, and his subsequent discovery of the magical world that you will have to seriously invest your time for. The cinematography, as well as the musical department, have also done a brilliant job as well.

‘Saramsha’ is a fantasy drama that not many would have expected from the Kannada industry. Written and directed by Surya Vashishta, this film is a welcome surprise and must be watched by everyone, who is a fan of quality cinema.
