Plot
It is believed that every time when a girl child is born, a supernatural force takes an elderly woman in the village through a rope. Ram joins Rithika, a journalist, to find out the truth. While they go deep into the history, they learn about the rivalry between Savitri and Trichandeshwari. Who are they? Why did they become enemies? The rest of the film explains these.
Star Performance
Anu Prabhakar is excellent in her portrayal of Savitri, and Bhavani gives her a tough challenge with her performance. Though Avinash, Sudha Belawadi, Harshika, and Priya Hegde appear on screen, they don’t have enough space to perform.
Analysis
The story deals with serious issues faced by women and the rivalry before ages. The script tries to explore things from a different perspective. But, the makers didn’t take enough care in handling the sensitive subject. The characters are not developed properly and hence the emotional connection is missing. Many talented stars are not given proper roles and hence their roles seem to be of no use. The film has good themes, including gender oppression. However, they are not properly revealed due to weak writing and execution. After a point, the plot becomes predictable and even messy. The VFX work is good, but due to the weak writing, it didn’t help the film elevate. The editing is not up to the mark.

Despite the admirable performances, the Hagga oscillates between good theme and weak writing and execution. If you want to watch Anu’s performance, you can visit the theatres!
