Plot
Raam is a travel photographer. During one such travel, he had to cross his hometown and school. When he enters the school, his memories start moving towards his past and he longs to meet his old friends. When he speaks about this to his friends with whom he is in contact now, they plan for a grand reunion. Ram was much excited to meet his school love Jaanu. She too attends the reunion. But, she is married now. Will Raam be able to move with Jaanu freely? Will Jaanu speak with him as before? Did they express their unexpressed love during the school days? Watch the film on the silver screen!
Star Performance
Ganesh did his best as Raam. His expressions and body language are quite good, except the fake beard. On the other hand, Bhavana has excelled as Jaanu. She is so natural with her performance and is impressive, especially while narrating a scene to Raam’s students and in the climax.
Analysis
Preetham has done justice to the original. But, he has skipped a few minutes from that of the original. If you hadn’t watched 96, you would definitely love 99. If you have watched it, you will start comparing and will find some flaws in 99. Yet, 99 is a superb love story that is decently handled. This is one among the very decent stories that released in recent times. You couldn’t find a single shot that makes you feel uncomfortable to watch with the family. The star selection is superb and kudos to the casting team. The music by Arjun Janya is perfect and it matches the original too. Cinematography and editing are flawless.

Verdict
99 is an excellent film that has its positives and very few negatives. If we sideline those negatives and watch the movie, 99 is an unforgettable romantic entertainer of this decade!
