Raveena Tandon is working as a school teacher in Delhi. She is living with her teenage girl Alisha and her husband though nothing is so good between the husband and wife. There were many films that were focused on women in the past few years and Maatr is the recent one to hit the screens. This is the debut flick of director Ashtar Sayed and it can be very well regarded as an eye-opener. Based on the gang rapes, this movie makes one to think one or two about the plight of women in Indian society. Though the film seems to be exaggerated the women will applaud it for the relevant issue. You can feel the pain of the protagonist throughout the movie.

  • The movie is very melodramatic sometimes that you get disturbed.
  • The screenplay could have been more powerful.
  • More care could have given to the BGM of Maatr.
