Plot

As soon as the effects of the pandemic started to get a bit moderate, one of the ancient traditions, the Kumbh Mela, where various Hindu sects come together on the bank of River Ganga at Haridwar for sacred bathing, started again. This man with no background in filmmaking named the movie ‘Rakesh,’ intoxicated with the idea of documenting the cultural icon on the River Ganga and Kumbh Mela festival. He got one boy named ‘Siddartha’ who was an amateur in camera and then he started shooting either without any storyline or a written script or even a plot. The theme of the musical film is the way a story is created, step by step, how characters are born, and how the creation of the documentary spiritually transforms not only the creators of the show but all the characters in the show in one way or another.

Star Performance

Ambika Arya, the actress in the movie has portrayed her role incredibly well and cherry on top, her beauty fits her character, which made the film even more intriguing to watch. Despite being a debut actress, she is a star performer in the film. As the film’s lead, it is pretty exciting to watch Rajesh Kumar Dhami’s acting and scenes.

Analysis

Kalrav is a very heart-touching movie about the beauty of nature and religion. With an incredible story and beautiful views of Uttarakhand, especially the heroine of this movie miss "Ambika" is an elegantly beautiful girl who is simply cute and fits in her role very well. More so, she is a role model to other girls as she shows them how to persevere and be successful after being challenged.

They have captured lots of beautiful scenes of Uttarakhand mountain ranges and valleys, which won’t bore you.

However, the two significant depictions that are most influential in this regard are the mid-movie parts of the Maha Kumbh Mela scene, in particular where the camera does not move off their faces and activate Naga Sadhus. They attempted to depict how much they could pay off, but Kumbha mela is incredible, we can only imagine but got a glimpse in the film. The songs are great and have deep meanings; they are fantastic to listen to. People of all ages can sing numbers and nobody will ever forget them. In the movie, they have portrayed that Covid impacts everyone’s life, and it’s important not to surrender. It can be noted that the direction is excellent. I must say that the producer of this film has noble ambitions for this picture.

What a fantastic movie that depicts the fluctuations of life especially during the COVID time and the difficulties of people. With all the challenges people went through, especially during COVID-19, all that reality is portrayed in the movie splendidly and realistically. The movie glorifies the gods and goddesses of the state of Uttarakhand and other deep secrets of the state. I liked the songs also the tune for the songs and background is also good. Since, it feels like a documentary, some very tiny loopholes you may observe. Overall, the movie is significant.

Even though the movie couldn’t perform well at the box office, people who watched it have given it a thumbs up as it is.
