Plot

Asif Khan Asif Khan is a London based architect. He is popul >> Read More... is married to Rashmi Khemka. Shaan Khan, Asif’s nephew stays with them. Rashmi’s father doesn’t like her and his son-in-law, as they got married against his wish. Asif and Shaan went to play cricket on the playground with some other kids. While they play, the stump hits the ground and also the body that is buried. Soon, the weather changed abruptly and hence, they returned home. After returning home, Asif washes the stump that has blood stains and throws it. Later, everyone in the house feels that the house is haunted. So, they decided to bring a priest to solve the issue. Star Performance

But, Laxmii is completely different from Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Akshay has done his part well. Sharad Kelkar has done justice to the given role. Kiara and others are okayish. But, it is the script and screenplay that didn’t impress.

Analysis

The film comes with some small changes from that of the original version. The Tamil version was a super hit. That’s the reason for the remake. But, Laxmii didn’t impress the audience due to its lagging screenplay. The audience feels that the script is stereotyped. Horror comedy movies had been received well by the audience. Yet, there should be some difference in the basic concept. Although the star cast is good and the film is technically sound, the characterization and scripting made the people lose their interest. The music and cinematography are okayish.

Verdict

Although the film has a strong cast, the basic concept is not much impressive. When it was expected that the film might impress the audience as it did in the Tamil version, it disappoints. If you are a fan of Akshay or the horror-comedy genre, then you could try it once.
