Has Aneet Padda joined the MHCU?

According to recent reports, there were strong rumors about the Saiyaara star replacing Kiara Advani in the horror comedy Shakti Shalini, which will be a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, and will release around 2027 or 2028.

However, Maddock Films has cleared the air. They have revealed that nothing is official for now, be it the lead actress or the director. Talks are apparently going on with both Aditya Sarpotdar and Ajitpal Singh of Tabbar fame, though an official confirmation is yet to be made.

The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe was conceptualized in 2022, when the principal cast of Stree 2 made a cameo appearance in Bhediya. However, it was formally introduced with the 2024 movie Munjya, which turned out to be a surprise hit. The success of Stree 2 emboldened Maddock Films to officially establish the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe with a slate of films that would be releasing between 2025 to 2028, beginning with Thama, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal in important roles.
