Based on actual events, 1971 tells the compelling story of Six Prisoners of War, who escape from the clutches of the Pakistan Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
Plot: 1971 revolves around six brave soldiers, Major Suraj Singh, Capt. Jacob, Flight Lt. Gurtu, Captain Kabir, Subedar Ahmed and Flight Lt Ram held as P.O.Ws together in Pakistani camp.After some years of living trapped, they decide to make the most daring escape to the Indian Border. What follows is a tale of bravery, patriotism, and undying spirit to reach their homeland.
