ChittaranjanGiri is an Indian actor who has worked primarily in Bollywood. He completed his Bachelor’s degree and mastery in Dramatology from the National School of Drama in 1993. In 1995, he married AshwiniGiri, an actress who is known for her performance in Shwaas (2005). They have a daughter together named Unnati. Before coming into mainstream Bollywood, Chittaranjan used to work at theatres, while acting and directing plays too. He is known to have directed various plays like Pratibimb, Gunda, DillikiDeewar, Wang Chu, SapneChuttanDubeKe, etc.

He made his debut into Bollywood with the movie Dr.Ambedkar (2000). Then, he got cast in several films like Kasoor (2001), Lajja (2001), Makdee (2002), Matrubhumi (2003), Chot (AajIsko, KalTereko) (2004), MangalPandey: The Rising (2005), Faisla (2005), Raja BhaiLageyRaho…(2005), 1971 (2007), The Abeer Color (2009), Saluun (2009), Pad Man (2018), Bhonsle (2018), Super 30 (2019) and Baba (2019).
Chittaranjan earned widespread recognition for his lead role in a Konkani movie, PaltadachoMunis (2009) or The Man Beyond the Bridge, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Konkani. It also received international acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of India in 2009. In his first Marathi feature film Lathe Joshi (2016), he played the titular character while his wife, AshwiniGiri, played his wife on-screen too.
This movie garnered rave reviews from critics and got nominated at different film festivals. Chittaranjan got nominated for the Best Actor Award in the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 2018 and in Taiwan Film Festival too. He also bagged roles in various short films such as Kashmakash (2018) and Black Label (2019). For Black Label, he grabbed the Best Male Actor Award in the National Short Film Festival, Malvan.
Chittaranjan is also credited as a co-writer and script supervisor for the movie, Mr. Lieutenant Radio (2014). He also worked as an acting coach in the film, Lahore (2010). Apart from acting, he is also known to have taught acting at notable colleges like MIT, FLAME University, Pune and LONI, Pune and conducted various acting workshops throughout the country. He is presently juggling shooting for future movies as well as teaching acting & theatre to selected students in Mumbai.
