The movie bagged eleven Academy Awards and 28 nominations for the award. It is to be noted that artists Ed Harris and Robert Forster were nominees for Oscar Awards.

The director brothers Logan Miller and Noah Miller have done the roles of brother Lane and Clint in the movie. Following the demise of their father in jail, Directors Logan and Noah Miller decided to direct an autobiographical account as a dedication to him. They ran short of money and had no contacts. Then, they happened to come across Ed Harris in the city of San Francisco and formed the crew members for the team.

Plot: The movie is an autobiographical account of twin brothers who return to their native places after ditching attempts to become baseball players. All of their hopes are doused, and the brothers reminisce the past. Also, they reestablish their bonds with their destitute father, Harris. The brothers are embarrassed because of their father’s behavior. Their life is in a muddle. To add up to the woes, they face trouble at their workplace. Forster appears as an empathetic sheriff who stands by the brothers during the time of trouble. In real life, the father of the director brothers was bogged down by alcoholism so much that he could not be an exemplary father. Later, their father died in the hospital. The plot revolves around the actors Logan Miller and Noah Miller. The opening scene shows the brothers leading a difficult life in Arizona. Both have failed miserably in their lives. The battered brothers are forced to return home. They have to work hard and earn some money to go back to Arizona. The brothers face a crisis in life, and they have to find a solution.

The entire movie is about how they manage their crises. The audiences can predict every twist in the movie. The brothers share the screen space and are pleasant view for their onscreen appearance. The movie has a very good theme, and romance in the movie does not get past just a warm squeeze in the hand. But, the movie needs to make a more psychological impact, and the backdrop in the movie could have been improved. He movie directors discovered a treasure trove in the actor Ed Harris. There is a lack of weight regarding screenplay and direction. Actors Evan and Brandon Hanson add to the lighter vein in the movie. In fact, the actors into the movie are a big relief even though the movie follows the usual formula. The cinematography by Ricardo Gale is commendable. The music by Martin Davich resembles the usual ones, and the movie appears stereotyped.

Verdict: The movie The Touching Home is worth watching for the actors in it.
