The Cabin in the Woods is made by the makers of ‘BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’. It is about five friends who go to an isolated cabin in the woods for a break. ) devise plans for a mysterious ritual for saving humanity. They manipulate and intoxicate the five of them with psychotropic drugs that reduce their rational thinking.
They also unleash zombies and other monsters to kill them. The events ultimately result in their deaths one by one. The movie ends with the conclusion that humanity is not worth saving at the expense of innocent lives.
STAR PERFORMANCES
The critics heavily appreciated Richard Jenkins as Gary and Bradley Whitford as Steve (the technicians). Their performances were fun loving. It showed Drew Goddard’s skill as a director.
ANALYSIS
The movie balances out beautifully between a well-mixed cocktail of classic horror and humor.
