A sweet, heartwarming tale about friendships and bond between two young boys, who are as different as salt and pepper which builds up from a scratch. You'll be swept off, in the superb story of how they meet and bond over. After the premier at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, it has been shown at Glasgow Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. The story makes us the enjoy and celebrate the innocent childhood and the fun and free-spirited imagination of the kids.

Plot: We enter on early 80's where there are two boys, the school's resident devilish lad, Lee Carter (Will Poulter) and the lonely lad, Will Proudfoot (Bill Milner) whose fundamentalist faith forbids him to indulge in television, movies, documentaries. Both meet outside the class in the hallway, one due to his behavior and the other due to his helplessness of not able to attend the documentary classes. Tragedy strikes the fish bowl kept in the corridor, which is accidently broken by both but Lee takes the blame in exchange for Will becoming the stunt man in his film that he wants to submit by an approaching deadline. Will, who had never watched a movie before, watches First Blood at Lee's home, and it becomes the love of his dreams, a moment which would change his future.

Christening himself as the Son Of Rambow Click to look into! >> Read More... , he embarks on a journey of stunts and adventures required for Lee's movie. Lee and Will becomes inseparable friends until a popular French exchange student enters their film resulting in almost the whole school being a part of the same and it results in a fight, a fight which changes everything, even the poor camera gets broken. Will Lee be able to complete his movie? Will Lee and Will be back to being the best buddies they were? Will the movie be able to see the light of the day? What would Will's mother do when she find this out? For the above, watch this marvel. You'll probably put it up for reruns and hug it tight.

Analysis: Son Of Rambow is flat-out funny, lovely, sweet, sugar and everything nice. Will and Lee stand complementary to each other, and it is a blessing for the viewers to be allowed to accompany them in this journey. It's remarkably imaginative, genuine and both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Star Performances: Every actor, main cast or supporting show their acting prowess. The scenes are gorgeous. The story is refreshingly beautiful. The life shown is real. The ending makes you cry. Want no more than this from a movie.

What's there?

1. Despite it being a comedy, it shows the three-dimensional aspect of the kids' lives, bond, and sentiments which let the tears run off like Tsangpo.

2. The grand, impressing musical score fitting the bill like specially crafted melodies of joy.

3. Everything. Like, everything about the movie.

What's not there?

1. The visuals captured are great, although some may argue 80's never had such videotapes.

2. The portrayal of the fundamentalist religion as a bit too harsh and interfering with the child's development.

3. The undoubted devotion to the mean kids.

Verdict: Watch it for sure and perhaps more reruns to follow.
