Plot: In a normal day, California was shocked by a 9.1 magnitude quake that starts to rip apart major cities in East Coast. Chief Gaines and his separated wife Emma, help one another to save their daughter. They set up a meeting point, where they will reunite as a family. Emma and Ray get entangled with successive quake devastating effects and catastrophic aftershocks that prevent them from reaching their daughter in time. As they come close to her, it seems that faith prevents them from getting their family back together and the events almost took their daughter’s life. Ray did not give up and continuously tried to revive her daughter and settled in the Marin County relief camp.

As I watched the trailer a few months ago, along with its creepy rendition of “California Dreaming” by Robot Koch and Delhi de France, the great destruction of San Francisco Bridge, and the gigantic cruise line adds disastrous effects. I said that, this could be one of the most epical movies of the year. Unfortunately, that is not what we were expecting from its high profile trailer. I saw a movie almost the same with “ The Day After Tomorrow Click to look into! >> Read More... .” The big part in this movie is that Dwayne Johnson Born on 2nd May 1972 in California, Dwayne Johnson >> Read More... is always being a plus factor for any movie that, he will cast a role. For this time, he again worked with Gugino, as they made sparks before in their movie “Race to Witch Mountain.”

It is undeniable that, the graphics shown in this movie is over the top. When they revealed the cast in this movie I felt it is going to be great. Looking into their performances and the story of this movie seems to be not so perfect with their publicity. I felt that movie lacks some special story that, it could make so different than any other disaster genre films. They should have at least made some breathtaking scenes not just, fill it with computer graphics. Of course, the most important issue discussed in this movie is the settlement of Ray and Emma to rebuild their family.

It would be reasonable to rate this movie “3 out of 5 stars.” For the reason of beyond the limit computer graphics, Dwayne gave additional star effect in this movie; I feel that I am just watching a normal storyline using a 3D facility. “The Rock” is like halted or limited with this movie. You will not see the Dwayne Johnson that took us to another level of action stunts. Other casts, included in this movie, contributed their part. Unfortunately, a spice is missing in the movie – the good depiction of the plot and justifying the characters in and out of the movie.
