is a movie that would never have been the greatest hit that it is without Kevin Hart’s star making vehicle. In the movie, Ben (Hart) is in love with the sister of rogue detective James Payton (

). In order to portray himself as a merited candidate to the police academy, and a high principled and deserving partner to James’s sister, Ben persuades James to allow him on a ride along for a day.
During the course of the day, Ben is confronted by dangerous situations of various magnitudes while James hopes to hinder Ben’s dream of becoming an esteemed police officer. Little does James know that it’ll take more than sheer nuisance to shatter Ben’s dreams. The most triumphant moment of the picture is a hysterical trip to a gun range, where Ben is confronted by guns and weapons that he has only seen on television. This incident ends with one of the most hilarious anecdotes in memory.
The main subset of an action packed comedy is an ominous plot, which Ride Along definitely has to offer. The plotline is fairly standard, musing over examples such as Beverly Hills Cop. Another plot depicted throughout the story is that of Ben’s relationship with Angela and their ultimate marital nemesis. This, along with the utterly hilarious ride along accounts for silly couple humor, which is unavoidable while watching a movie starring Kevin Hart.
Kevin Hart has been making a name for himself through spectacular portrayal in comedies today, he is presumably headed to taking over the Chris Rock/Martin Lawrence mantel, and if he continues to perform the way he is performing, both in stand up comedies and starring in such hits, he has a tenable shot at holding the box office power.
