Plot
Alice, an amnesiac, wakes up to realize that the genetic research facility she was supposed to guard has been infected with the deadly T-virus. The research facility called the “Hive” is owned by the very powerful Umbrella Corporation. The facility’s artificial intelligence kills everyone inside the facility to stop the spread of the virus. But it does not take Alice and her team a long time to realise that the dead are waking up as the preying Un-dead. It’s a fight between the living and the deadly zombies.
Star Performance
As the cast crew for a sci-fi horror movie, the stars played their parts well enough. The movie makes a great attempt at invoking a sense of terror, thrill and fear among the audience.
Analysis
The movie series is based on the video game of the same name. But the ardent fans of the video game series would surely notice that the movie strays quite a bit from the storyline. This defeats the purpose of the franchise trying to attract the vast fan base of the video game series. However, this deviation from the plot of the video game might result in a few unanticipated twists and turns, even for the old fans. This can be a plus point. The acting from the cast is primarily B-level, with the exception of Michelle Rodriguez’s perfect performance. The action scenes were not way too thrilling. The presentation of the zombies is quite stereotypical but lacks extreme gore. Overall, the movie is a good enough watch, mildly worth the hype.

Verdict
This movie might be a good option for the audience that is quite new to the genre of horror, sci-fi and anything including zombies, as it is less gruesome as compared to the numerous other options. The movie can seem bland at times, but it holds up pretty well. The movie can be a good watch if a viewer prefers the genre.
