Plot
John Rambo, a Vietnam War veteran, lives in Arizona with his granddaughter and her companion Maria Beltran. Gabriela informs Rambo that her biological father has been located by a friend in Mexico. Gabriela drives to Mexico in secrecy to find out why her father abandoned her and her mother. She is drugged and kidnapped by the enforcers of a Mexican cartel. Rambo rushes to Mexico and interrogates both Manuel and Gizelle about her whereabouts. The cartel vow to mistreat Gabriela further due to Rambo's actions. Gabriela is consistently dosed with heroin and sold to be raped repeatedly. Rambo later raids one of the brothels, killing several men until he finds a drugged Gabriela. An enraged Rambo sends Maria away and rigs the ranch with traps for a confrontation. He then tears Hugo apart and rips out his heart. In the aftermath, a frail Rambo sits on his father's doorstep, determined to battle on and keep the memory of his loved ones alive. During the credits, flashbacks to scenes from all five movies show Rambo riding off into the sunset.
Star Performance
Sylvester Stallone has undoubtedly done an excellent job in maintaining the brutal and raw character of Rambo in this film as he has done in the previous movie of the franchise. The action scenes feel a bit redundant. Stallone alone makes up for the void.
Analysis
The film was released in two versions: theatrically and on-home video. One version is 89 minutes long and was released in the United States and the United Kingdom. The alternative version is 100 minutes long. The 100-minute version includes a lengthier opening sequence in which Rambo rescues civilians caught in a storm. The 89-minute version is also the only one available on home video in the United States and the United Kingdom, while the international cut is the only one accessible everywhere else. While Germany may enjoy the International version on its whole, the RTL TV version has been substantially edited. This version lacks all of the most graphic violence and only a few bits of conversation.

Verdict
It is not as you would expect from a decade-old running franchise that made Stallone one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
