The flick Perrier’s Bounty is an Irish movie that hit the screens in 2010. The movie is a crime thriller intertwined with comedy. The present day city of Dublin happens to be the backdrop for the movie.
The movie was directed by Ian Fitzgibbon. Cillian Murphy Cillian Murphy was born May 25th 1976 in Douglas C >> Read More... has done the role of Michael in the movie. Jim Broadbent James “Jim” Broadbent is a renowned actor who has >> Read More... has done the role of the father who deserted him long back. Jodie Whittaker has done the role of the beautiful neighbor. Brendon Gleeson has done the role of Perrier, the gangster.
Plot: In one among the first few scenes in the movie, small time criminal Michael is seen fast asleep. He is prodded with a gun, and he wakes up. Much to his horror, there are gangsters before him. The gangsters are none other than thugs working under Perrier. They leave Michael after threatening him. Soon after that, Michael’s ailing father comes back to his son to set right the lost relationship. There is also a girl (Jodie Whittaker) from the neighborhood who shares the screen space. The trio realizes that they have to escape the clutches of Perrier, and they start journeying on the road. Ensuing dialogues in the movie are emotional conversations of a father with his son.
There are a few flaws in the plot. The reason for Perrier to stalk Cillian Murphy appears silly. The silliness neither helps the movie appear funny nor more serious. The director has tried to mix the recipes of emotion, hilarious comedy, and gory scenes and present the movie in a palatable manner. The movie Perrier’s Bounty is a stereotyped gangster movie with characters that have not been fully utilized. The characters deserve more than what the movie gives them. By the time the movie is over, the screenplay artist O’Rowe establishes himself as a good screenwriter. However, the effort put in by the screenwriter does not come anywhere near his previous efforts.
Verdict: The movie Perrier’s Bounty is a stereotyped one, and some audiences would not find the movie very plausible.
