Plot

The film follows two couples, Sarah and Joseph, and Estelle and Victor, who rent a luxury home in the desert to enjoy their weekend. Both couples are facing problems in their relationship; on one hand, Sarah and Joseph are dealing with the loss of their child, whereas Estelle and Victor are trying to navigate their fairly new relationship. Sarah and Estelle enjoy the get-together as a chance to rekindle their friendship. On the second night of their stay, a woman knocks on their door, claiming to be their neighbor who needs to call home and call for help because she is facing problems with her car. They eventually find out that the woman is not a neighbor, and she does not know the original owners of the house. So, they call the police and try to make the woman leave. In their brawl to make the woman leave, she falls, hits her head, and dies. While trying to hide the body, they heard the police knock on their door. When they open the door, apart from the police, they also see masked men who kill the police officers. The film follows them as they try to survive the masked men who are hell-bent on destroying them.

Star Performance

The star cast performs well. The film includes some over-the-top acting common in thriller and horror movies.

Analysis

“Hell Is Where The Home Is” is a well-executed thriller film. The plot is deep and meaningful and plays out well. The film succeeds in answering all questions and does not leave any loose ends.

What’s There?

• A thriller film with action, crime, and horror

• A good plot line

• The star cast performs well

What’s Not There?

• The film is full of violence, blood, and gore

• The film feels like a melting pot of thriller and horror genre tropes

Verdict

“Hell Is Where The Home Is” has a good plot line, mediocre performances, and many action, thriller, and horror scenes. The film has an eerie atmosphere that boosts the horror factor of the film. The film would be a good watch for horror, thriller, crime, and action genre enthusiasts.
