CAST & CREW
The original idea was to start the series entirely with a new plot that ignores the Saekis. Nevertheless, Nicholas Pesce revealed in an interview that the movie takes place during the events of The Grudge (2004) and The Grudge 2 (2006). Also, the Star-studded cast and Nicolas Pesce's mastery of horrifying gore are powerless against a perplexing and emotionally flat remake.

is the best actor in the movie and a terrific actress, beating out Demián Bichir and Jackie Weaver in their respective parts.
Analysis:
The cast is excellent, and the film has several strong performances. The script isn't that horrible; it includes some intriguing mythology-related details and is somewhat graphic, most of which are unneeded but enjoyed. The appalling directing is the main issue here. The story, which takes place between the first two American movies, is about a woman who brought the curse from Japan home and then killed her family, who cursed her house. Several characters that interact with that house and are slain are presented to us during the movie.

Verdict:
The plot was written while sitting at a desk, and it is only currently being performed for profit on a meager budget. The story has no overarching themes and adds little to existing knowledge or tradition. It's simply impossible to get everything into one reasonably short movie!
