Plot

The plot of the story revolves around a compulsive gambler named Bobby. He lives with his sick mother, Audrey. His mother doesn’t support his gambling habit as it was his father’s ruin. Bobby dates a waitress, Kim, at Chip’s gaming hall. As Audrey’s medical bills piled up, Ben suggested Bobby to enter in a high stake gambling game to pay Audrey’s bills. Bobbly stole his mother’s savings. Turk, a wealthy man hosted the game. Bobby and Chip eliminate the bankers quickly.  Turk brings out his voucher of 250 thousand dollars. Chip wins the stake, seeing this, Bobby gets furious from Chip.  The game goes on. Bobby repays the debts of his mother and updates her medical care.

The movie ended abruptly. When Kim gets to know about how Bobby made the money. She asked him to stay away from Chip. Bobby throws Chip out. Meanwhile, Turk killed Ben as he thinks Ben was responsible for the heist. After killing Ben he killed Chip. As he was about to kill Bobby the police enters and Chip escaped.

Star performance

The main character of the story is Bobby. Stéfano Gallo played Bobby’s character. His character was one of the most dramatic and problematic ones. Stéfano played Bobby’s character.  His acting was full of flaws. However, Bobby turns out to be a lucky one as he quickly escapes the massacre in the end.

Other actors like Paul Sorvino, Robert Knepper, Kate Trotter, Jessica Sipos, Kjartan Hewitt, Daveed Louza, Jane Moffat, Jenny Raven, Brett Ryan, Danijel Mandic, Frank Falcone and Alyssa Veniece Chin have also delivered problematic performance. Their characters lacked depth.

Analysis

Cold Deck can be a better film. The film’s main character is Bobby, who gambles a lot, addicted to cigarettes. Bobby’s character is a problematic one. All the characters in the movie are underdeveloped. They are unauthentic. The characters are very underdeveloped. The scriptwriting in this movie doesn’t even make sense. For instance, Bobby’s wife knew that his ex husband is addicted to gambling yet she hides $15,000 in an unlocked box which was easily accessible to Bobby. The script is meaningless. The writers did a terrible job. The film was fragile. It lacked substance. However, the film’s script is straightforward yet unrealistic, full of silly actions. The film’s direction by its director Zack Bernbaum is very horrible. If the execution were better, the movie would’ve been better.

Not only this, the chemistry between actors is missing. The screenplay is also not very good either. Throughout the movie, the background doesn’t match the ongoing scene. It has terrible cinematography. The film’s pace is horrible. It focuses on many unimportant scenes. The supporting cast have also delivered terrible performance, making the film worse. However, the musical part of the film is delicate. At least it created thriller and suspense in a meaningless script.

What's there?

  •  The film’s script is a thriller.
  •  The film’s soundtracks are fine.

What's not there?

  • The movie’s plot is unrealistic.
  • The plot of the film is entirely predictable. It had many meaningless scenes.
  • The film’s pace is terrible. It focuses on many unimportant scenes.
  • The lead and supporting actors gave a bad performance.
  • The characters are very underdeveloped.

Verdict

This movie is a terrible movie. One is advised not to waste their time in watching this movie. The plot is pretty unrealistic and boring which is hard to visualise. The lead and supporting actors have delivered terrible performance. Therefore, it’s not worth the time.
