ANALYSIS:
The expectation level for this movie was high, due to the presence of Patricia on the crew. Patricia is well known for choosing a good and a quality script.
The conversation between the protagonists is appealing. The way they converse through their body language does more magic on screen. The city of Cairo itself comes as a character in the movie. Cairo is shot beautifully, and its aesthetics also become one of the biggest plus points of the movie. The bustling sound of the market and the people are annoying at times. But the movie also has a beautiful mix of regional music and waltz. The cinematography by Luc Montpellier and the editing by Teresa Hannigan is magnificent.
STAR PERFORMANCES:
Clarkson does a dominating role by giving a clear performance. She exactly replicates the copy of a person who is totally unaware of the place, and who possess a priggish nature. She totally rules the movie with her unique skills. Siddig comes as a tour guide, who delivers an act with decent mannerisms. It is his manners; that stops him from further proceedings with Clarkson.
WHAT'S THERE?
This movie is more like a travelogue. One could witness the serene beauty of the city of Cairo.
WHAT'S NOT THERE?
This story is not filled. It may have some spaces that are filled by the protagonist duo. But the characters make the environment more lively.
VERDICT:
Cairo makes us yearn to visit the city.
