Plot
An ex-high school football player called Brian Banks is now 27 years old and lives in Long Beach, California, with his mother. He is on parole from jail. He is considered a sex offender due to a case that happened in his high school days. In this case, he is deemed to rape his classmate Kennisha. They were just going to kiss each other, and in between teacher came, which results in him leaving her to escape. This results, in her confessing that he raped her. As a result he had imprisonment of years of prison. His life has been destroyed, and his dream to become an NFL player was shattered. It is difficult for him to get jobs. What will happen to Brian Bank’s dream? Will he be able to live an everyday life? The rest of the story deals with it.
Star Performance
Aldis Hodge, as Brian Banks, did an incredible performance in the film. Her journey to escape from the false accusation of rape was well portrayed. His acting and dialogue delivery in the movie was brilliant. His detailing of the character was outstanding. Greg Kinnear, as Justin Brooks, did a fantastic performance in the movie. He shows the nature of a person who believes innocent people should not suffer from injustice. He was ready to help Brain in his case. His acting was factual and natural. One would dislike Xosha Roquemore as Kennisha Rice, after watching this movie. That much impact she made in the whole film. Her actions resulted in creating significant damage in Brain's life, and she was not trying to correct her mistakes to save his life. She was perfect in her character. She did a remarkable performance in the film. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors.
Analysis
The storyline of the film was excellent, with a good amount of drama. The film focus on the central theme of how false accusation can destroy people’s life. The film is based on the biography of Brian Banks. The dramatic nature of the film is maintained from the start till the end. The story can be considered a good biography adaption for a movie. The script can be improved with good dialogues. There was a freshness in the concept. The cinematography and direction were brilliant in the film. The struggling journey of Brian Banks has been perfectly demonstrated in the movie. The background music and songs play a significant role in the movie. The dialogues were okay in the film. A great message and theme were in the movie.
