The character of Jack, performed by the actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, projects an intimidating appearance that keeps the audience always on their toes thinking what he will do next. The role of Laura played by Piper Perabo, appears in small doses; the character of a realtor who also happens to be in love with Paul.Â
Analysis
The screenplay, written by Justin Stanley and Marc Frydman, attempts to interlace a tale filled with psychological tension and moral uncertainty. Goodman captures the oppressive atmosphere of the mountains, which culminates in suspense all through the movie. Through his cinematography, José David Montero represents the contrast between beautiful landscapes and dark ideas. However, at some points, it seems like some scenes are taking too long to end as if they were staged rather than spontaneous; this leads to a slowdown in pacing sometimes during this film.
