Mirai has restored smiles for the Tollywood moviegoers, including Ram Gopal Varma.
The iconic filmmaker took a jibe at the big budget dramas for their rather unimpressive VFX, irrespective of language. Citing the case of Mirai, he said that if a small budget film like Mirai has better special effects than movies like Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, something is seriously wrong with the makers.
This is not the first time Teja Sajja’s movie has been praised for handling the visual effects well in a movie of limited resources. Only a year earlier, the devotional action drama Hanu-Man, which paved way for the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, was praised for having visual effects much better than even some of the so called Bollywood biggies, especially Adipurush. The movie also won a National Award for Best Movie with Visual Effects [AVGC].
Following an impressive show in the opening weekend, the fantasy drama directed by Kartik Ghattamaneni is all set to earn around 82 crore worldwide in the first five days of its opening week, with the domestic collection itself crossing 50 crores. After a brief drought, the back to back successes of Mirai and Little Hearts have rejuvenated the spirits of Telugu cinema.
