The Kalamandir is one of South India’s top designer clothing stores, and their Kalamandir Foundation just celebrated their 5th year in the business. The event was held at their own grounds in Kukatpally. The Kalamandir Foundation was founded by Mr. Prasad Chalavadi, CMD of the Kalamandir Group. Telugu actors like '

Cherish Foundation, a charitable institute who took care of the orphans, poor and street children received donations from some actors and also from Prasad and Mohan Chalavadi. A felicitation was given to five indigent weavers and the children of Kalamandir staff received the merit scholarships called, Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust.
The event also set up blood donation camps around Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The blood that they collected will be donated to the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society for the children who suffer Thalassemia disorder.
The CEO of Kalamandir, Mohan Chalavadi said, “A thought of paying back to the society has lead to the initiation of this noble cause called ‘Kalamandir Foundation’. Helping the needy gave us eternal delight. It was the greatest achievement we ever achieved. We have undertaken numerous initiatives in the areas of health, education and environment. Providing scholarships, organizing blood donation camps, protesting against drugs, promoting green revolution and donations to charity are few among those initiatives carried over by the Foundation.
