‘Devara’ Up For Major Opening?

Is NTR Jr. heading for another blockbuster?

At least by the advance bookings worldwide for ‘Devara’, it looks likely. According to the recent reports, the film has crossed a huge mark of 50 crores from worldwide collections, which means that in the worst case, the opening day collections will be nothing less than 90 crores!

‘Devara’ is a two part action thriller, which will star NTR Jr. in a double role. The movie also stars Saif Ali Khan and Jahnvi Kapoor in their Telugu debuts. Koratala Siva will be directing this movie, which will release on 27 September.

The budget of ‘Devara’ is around 300 crores. If it earns 100 crores on the opening day itself, sky is the limit, unless the movie turns out to be something like ‘Indian 2’ or ‘GOAT’. There is also a superstition that whoever has worked with SS Rajamouli, never receives success in the next movie, with Ram Charan and Prabhas having suffered box office setbacks with ‘Acharya’ and ‘Saaho’ respectively. Interestingly, ‘Acharya’ was directed by Koratala Siva, and had released only a few months after ‘RRR’, only to tank at the box office!

It would be interesting to see if NTR Jr. manages to break this trend or not. If he does it, Bollywood is expectantly waiting for him with ‘War 2’, which would be his official Hindi debut, where he will star alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
