The actor has officially joined the shoot of the much awaited Mahakali, which is one of the most awaited instalments from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Puja herself confirmed the theory in a recent interview, where she talked about the complex personality of Shukracharya, who unlike other personalities, is neither too saintly, nor completely evil, despite being the guru of many demons. She wishes to explore this aspect of Guru Shukracharya, and with Akshaye being at the helm of affairs, nothing can be more exciting.

With the blockbuster success of Chhaava and Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna has now become one of the most sought after actors alongside the likes of Prabhas, despite not being in the lead for either film. The actor was subject to an unjust hate campaign after he walked out of Drishyam 3 due to creative differences around his character, though some claimed it was due to his exorbitant fees.
