When asked about Lakshmi Priyaa's role, Gautam Ramachandran says, "Lakshmi Priya plays one of the two heroines in our project. The other heroine is Kannada film, “U-Turn” fame Shraddha Srinath. Lakshmi plays a fisherwoman who lives with her sibling, played by Elango Kumaravel." Lakshmi Priyaa says that her new role had pushed her out of her comfort zone. She laughs and says, "I am a pure vegetarian and I have never handled fish or visited a fish market. My first scene in the film was that of frying fish." Lakshmi also says, "I am an ardent fan of Nivin Pauly and director Gautam is my friend. I want to do my best and make my role look as real as possible, regardless of my discomfort with fish. I play a de-glam character and would be sporting a small-town fisherwoman."
