Aachi Manorama Leaves Us With Tears!

Manorama, the legendary actress left this world and entered eternity. Born as Gopi Shantha in 1937 in Mannarkudi, this legendary actress made her cinema debut in 1958 through the T. R. Mahalingam movie, “Malayitta Mangai”. She has appeared in 1300+ movies and also performed in 1000+ stage dramas. This legendary actress, has nearly performed with all the south Indian top celebrities of her contemporary period and with the youngsters too. Right from MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, she has acted with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vijay and Surya. Being called fondly as Aachi by everyone, she is loved by every movie lover. There were rumors rolling out, a few months back about her health conditions. Actor Vivek visited Aachi and inquired about her health, at that time. She appeared in the screens and told that, she is safe. She has committed to act in three films, including Surya’s “Singham 3”. This legendary lady had the proud memories of acting with the five CMs of Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. She has acted with Anna Durai and Karunanidhi in her stage performance. She has been with the CM Jayalalitha in many of her films and also with MGR. She has also acted with the Andhra CM N. T. Rama Rao. This legend does not only specialize in various acting techniques; but had the wonderful knowledge in music. Aachi was identified as a singer through the movie, “Ratha Thilagam”. She has also sung in the music of the Oscar Hero A. R. Rahman in the film “May Matham”. The song by her in that film, “Madrasa Suththi Paakka Poren” song was a super hit. However, her playback song in the movie "Bommalattam" with Cho, “Va Vaathyare Ootaanda” is a classic one. Manorama has sung nearly 300 songs as a playback singer. Manorama got married to S. M. Ramanathan in 1964. But their marriage survived only for two years. She divorced him in 1966 and lived with her son Bhoopathi. Her acting thirst was never quenched and she continued her performances with various actors of various periods. She was recently seen in “Singham 2” with Surya and Anushka. Aachi Manorama is the Guinness Record Holder for acted in more than 1000 movies. This legendary actress has received “Padma Shri”, one of the highest honorary awards in India to honor people of various fields. Aachi was suffering from ill health for the past few days and she died due to the multiple organ failure, yesterday night. Let the legendary soul rest in peace!
