The change was made by the BJP government as Gurgaon is a corporate space close to Delhi.

The government has taken the decisions after discussing with the people there and not without their consent. An official spokesperson confirmed that the name change was done only after agreeing with the masses, who demanded the change,

Randeep Hooda took to Twitter and posted in Hindi asking why was the change made when ‘Gurgaon’ to ‘Gurugram’ when the word ‘Gram’ is not in Haryanvi. Rather he wishes they change it to ‘Gurugaon.' The 39-year-old actor will be seen in the latest biopic ‘Sarbjit’ releasing this year.
