He maintained that he is nervous about this role, since it’s a huge responsibility.

The movie will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane Vikramaditya Motwane is a film producer, writer, a >> Read More... , who is well known for projects like Udaan, Lootera, Jubilee etc. The movie is expected to release between 2026 and 2027.

In case you are unaware, Sourav Ganguly was the cricketer who revived Indian cricket after the match fixing scandal of 2000. He created a distinguished legacy of players, who wouldn’t think twice before taking on big teams like Australia, New Zealand etc. Ganguly made his debut in 1992, and retired from international cricket in 2008.

Apart from the Sourav Ganguly biopic, Rajkummar Rao is also portraying the role of the firebrand lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, whose conduct for the 26/11 case is still talked about. The movie will be bankrolled by Maddock Films.
