Looks like the producers have had enough.
According to the recent reports, a joint meeting of IFTPC, i.e. the Indian Film & TV Producers’ Council alongside the Producers’ Guild of India will be held by the end of the month. The main agenda of this meeting is to chalk out a solution for the menace of review bombing.
The producers allege that a certain section of social media influencers indulge in extortion from them, demanding lakhs for the positive review, and then review bombing the film with negative reviews if their demands aren’t met. They cited examples like YRF’s War 2 and Dinesh Vijan-led Maddock Films’ Param Sundari. Some of the action plans included blacklisting offenders and filing cases of criminal defamation.
While this sounds nice on paper, some social media influencers think that this is a tool to suppress genuine criticism of reviews altogether. One of the recent examples is the upcoming
