Monali Thakur Regrets Losing Out On Deewani Mastani

Monali Thakur who started from the reality show Indian Idol and debuted in the Bollywood industry with Race tracks Zara Zara Touch Me and Khwaab Dekhe, and went on to become a singing sensation of the newer lot. There was no stopping for the singer hence, and won the Filmfare for last year’s melody by Amit Trivedi “Sawaar Loon” from Looters and then the National Award for Anu Malik’s Moh Moh Ke Dhaage from Dum Laga Ke Haisha this year. She is elated with the victory and feels humbled and blessed to have worked with some of the most talented music composers. But, she hesitantly reveals that in the midst od all the appreciation for her National Award win and her most recent “Chham Chham” from Baaghi, she regrets losing out on the hit song of 2015 “Deewani Mastaani” composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Shreya Ghoshal. She remembers the time when the offer had come to her at first and at the very moment she was not in town. She missed the opportunity to be a part of the song since the makers did not have time to wait for her. By the time she was back, the song had already gone to Shreya Ghoshal. The song Deewani Mastaani went on to be a hit and was appreciated by the listeners and also garnered a few awards. Monali says that she will be singing more melodies and independent singles now.
