Dance Comes To The Rescue For Singer Monali Thakur

The National Award winning singer, Monali Thakur, is a trained Salsa exponent and has also learnt Hip-Hop and Bharatnatyam at an early age. Her film Lakshmi, helmed by Nagesh Kukunoor, had won accolades in several International Film Festivals. Monali feels that she is privileged to be able to combine all the three forms of art. Monali says that Dance has worked wonders for her- not only does she enjoy the art, but also it help her remain fit and get rid of her inhibitions. She has done a few films in Bengali as well and says that as an artiste she wants to explore more of acting and try her hands on a variety of genres. She says that films are a great medium of expression and she wants to continue her acting till the end. She adds that, in spite of all the dancing and acting, she is a musician and that shall remain to be her priority.
