Samsung will be rolling out Galaxy AI features to old Samsung Galaxy devices as part of their upcoming update, One UI 6.1.
On Thursday, the tech giant announced that the One UI 6.1 update will have Galaxy AI features for smartphones like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The Galaxy Tab S9 will also receive a new update with AI features.
Circle to Search is the first Galaxy AI feature that will be available on Samsung’s older smartphones and tablets. This feature allows users to swiftly search for information on Google, such as images, videos, or text, through a simple gesture with their finger or by using the S-Pen. The Circle to Search was introduced last month with the coming of the Galaxy S24 series.
One UI 6.1 update will also add the Galaxy AI features to Samsung’s inbuilt applications like Chat Assist, Live Translate, and Interpreter. The generative AI features will be available to older Samsung smartphones and tablets. The update will also be rolled out to the Galaxy S23 series by the end of March. Samsung says some Galaxy AI features on the S24 series will not run on older models, and some will require a Samsung account, an Internet connection, or Samsung’s inbuilt applications.
