According to reports, Google Maps is testing a new feature that shows the entrances and exits of select buildings. This will assist users in navigating directions and park their vehicles in convenient locations. The feature was spotted in Google Pixel 7a, so they are probably testing it for Android. However, it is not yet confirmed if it’s already being built in iOS.
Based on Android Authority’s report, this feature showed up while they were testing the app, and it’s available in Google Pixel 7a with Android version 11.17.0101. However, it is not yet available for Pixel users running the same Android version but using a beta Android built. Once a place is selected and zoomed in sufficiently, the new feature will stir to action, and a round green arrow with a white circle will mark all the entrances in a building. Currently, the entrance icons are available in select testing locations in places of Berlin, Las Vegas, New York City, and San Francisco, hinting Google might have some work to do on this new feature.
There are still issues while running this feature such as icons were not accurately placed where the entrance points are. Pretty sure, these can be fixed in the future since this is presently in the testing phase and will likely be polished before they roll it out to the general public.
