Gone are the days when women in daily soaps were a submissive people trapped within the four walls of the house. With the changing times, the depiction of women has transformed. Today they are shown as strong, independent, working women who can smoothly sail through all the rough tide and storm. Let’s look at some of these women.

5. Sandhya – The Ips Officer

The show is about the journey of a girl who always wanted to be an IPS officer. Sandhya, the protagonist, was forced to marry in a traditional family following her parents' death. Her journey from adjusting in the family, to motherhood, to becoming an IPS officer is the crux of the show.

6. Sanyukta- The Engineer

Sanyukta is an intelligent girl, brought up in a traditional family. She desired to be an engineer, but her parents only wanted to get her married. In spite of this, she studied in a top engineering college. She always wanted to carve her identity in the male- dominated world.

7. Dhara- The Cricketer

The show 'Tamanna' depicts the story of an enthusiastic girl Dhara who comes from a Gujarati family and wants to become a cricketer. But her family members, except her father, want her to marry. She ends up marrying an image builder who is insecure of her wanting to become a cricketer. The show beautifully portrays the struggle of a girl to achieve her dreams.
