Roshan Atta was born in 1919 into a doctor’s house in Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Shikarpur District, Pakistan. When her debut play, Moonjharan Jo Maag, a Sindhi play, aired in 1972, she gained popularity. She started her career in Karachi when she moved there with her husband. She subsequently became a famous radio actor due to her innate talent in voice acting. She slowly went on and started working with veteran and experienced artists and directors. Her famous plays from both Sindhi and Urdu include Gharbhaati, Oalra, Jiyapo, Bure Hin Bhanbhor Mein, and Jungle.
She is an avid actress in many Sindhi films like Dharti Dil Waran Ji, Faislo Zamir Jo, Mamta, Rat Aeen Ajrak, Dharti Lal Kunwar, and Ghoonghat Laah Kunwar. She was awarded the Life Achievement Award by PTV for her contributions to Pakistan Television and radio. She led a life of inspiration and later died at the ripe age of 93, on 30th March 2011 from a prolonged illness after living in abject poverty after being forgotten by the world.
