BP Somu is one of the most renowned Telugu producers working for the film industry. He has been working for the films since 1991. The first film for which he worked as a producer was Hrudaya Haadithu. The film was directed by M.S. Rajashekar and co-written by the artists like

and Vamshi. He devised another film alongside co-producers B. P. Thyagu and B. P. Maruthi. The name of the film was Prema Sangama, released in 1992. In 2008, he worked as a producer for the film Ullasanga Utsahanga. The film was directed and co-written by A. Karunakaran.
