Poornima is a South Indian Actress from Machlipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. She was one of the Actresses who has acted in a number of Telugu movies in the early and  mid 1980’s. Known for being a bubbly actress, she has acted in various roles of which most of them were homely and soft natured ones. 
Her movies include ‘Mudda Mandarama’, ‘Donga’, ‘Konte Kodallu’, ‘Krishna Garadi’, ‘Srivariki Premalekha’, ‘Muchataga Mugguru’, ‘Nalugu Sthambhalata’, Intlo Ramayya Vedhilo Krishnayya’, ‘Maa Pallelo Gopaludu’, ‘Adilakshmi’, etc among others. ‘Mudda Mandaram’ was her first movie. The movie was successful and ran for about 100 days. Her movie ‘Nalugu Sthambhalata’ was a big hit with the audiences. Actor Naresh who has acted with her in the movie maintains that the bold storyline and the climax all were a part of the movies success. They also acted together in another movie ‘Srivariki Premalekha’
Recently, it was also known that she joined the YSR Congress Party in front of YSRCP city president Vamsikrishna Srinivas at the party office in Vishakapatnam in MVP Colony. She was warmly welcomed with a ‘Kanduva’ at the party office. The actress who has worked in a number of movies, informed that she would work hard and will make sure that the party will succeed in the forth coming elections. She also informed that only YS Jagan can take the state forward and help it develop better.
