Sharmela Yalisetty

Film Director, Production Designer and Art Director, Sharmela Yalisetty was born on 13th April in Pedapalaparru, Andhra Pradesh. She was a student of Aeronautical engineering in Delhi. Later, she moved to Hyderabad and studied at G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science. Sharmela had a clear path in engineering, however, while working at an agency as a content writer, she experienced a rush of excitement in the art department. It was then that Sharmela found a new passion. Apart from having great mentors, she had additional help and was influenced by the famous Telugu writer, Tripuraneni Maharadhi who taught her about screenwriting.

Sharmela has worked in different entertainment industries: in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and English films. She has contributed her talents to over 120 commercial ads for both national as well as international brands and is associated with more than 32 films in Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Some of her works include: ‘Oo Kadathara? Ulikki Padathara?’ (Will you be shocked? Or will you get scared?) in 2012, ‘Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu (2019), ‘Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna (2020), ‘Modern Love Hyderabad’ (2022), and many more.
