Abhijit Majumdar, also known as the Melody King of Odia cinema, is an Indian film music director and composer. On September 11th, he was born in Sambalpur, Odisha, India. Abhijit began his career as a technician in the musical department for Odia films at Sambalpuri Industry. Later on, he began working for Ollywood. He is a self-taught musician who made his debut in 1991 at the Dhaski Gala. He rose through the ranks steadily and made his breakthrough as a composer with Kaisa Kapila (2000). He has composed almost 700 songs for Odia films, albums, and the Sambalpuri business. He also directs Oriya films and sings Odia bhajans. One of his Bhajana tapes, 'Nadia Rani', presented by Sarthak Music, became a super hit and highly popular in Odisha as well as the rest of the country.
He received recognition for his composition 'Nadia re lagithau Kanta, lo gajamukuta' from this collection. Abhijit then started developing his style of music, which was recognized by Oriya audiences for melodies such as Tora Krushna Chuda Rangara, Ae Salu, Mausi Ghara bhada Daba Ki, and so on. For Sarthak Music, he created a cutting-edge compilation called 'Prathama Dekha,' which was a hit.
