Sindura Bindu is an Odia drama serial that aired on Zee Sarthak. The story revolves around a young, tomboyish woman named Neelu, who aspires to be an IPS someday. Being a tomboy and the younger child, she is always overlooked by her parents compared to her elder sister Priya. Neelu befriends a young man named Deva. However, as the plot continues, Priya's marriage is arranged with Deva by their families. On the day of the marriage, Priya elopes with her lover leaving everyone in a very awkward situation.

Deva is shocked to see Neelu as the sister of Priya. To save the honour of the families, Neelu is married off to Deva under strange circumstances, however, it's done against their wishes. As the story moves forward, it showcases how Deva and Neelu gradually grow close towards each other and how their love unfurls. But they are challenged at every step of their married life by manipulative people and even Priya, purely out of hidden dislike or jealousy. How they accept each other and overcome these challenges constitutes the rest of the serial.
