Prem Anand

Prem Anand is a talented Indian music director and composer who works predominantly in the Odia Film and Television Industry. His critically acclaimed works include Mental (2014), Something Something 2 (2014), Pilata Bigidigala (2015), Agastya (2016), Baby (2016), Abhay (2017), Ole Ole Dil Bole (2018), and Love Promise (2018). He was born on 23 January 1975 at Saanagaan in Kendrapara district of Odisha, India. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Prem completed his schooling at Gopinathpur Sanskrit Vidyalaya. Also, he finished his graduation in 1997 from the Marshaghai College by majoring in History, and soon he honed himself in Hindustani classical music. After that, he worked as a music teacher in a school of Raygada for some time and then began composing for plays and small opera troupes. His songs made him quite famous among the listeners across his town.

In 1993, he could compose one song for a famous Opera Company in Orrisa, Janani Gananaatya, which provided him much appreciation. He got the chance to compose song for a play named, Naalu Bhai Ra Mo Naali Gaamuchhaa. Soon, he landed other projects where he got the chance to work besides various Opera troupes like Parbati Gananaatya, Kalinga Gananatya, Tulasi Ganantya, Gouri Gananatya, Trinaatha Gananaatya, Shivani Ganantya, Tarapur Opera, and Indrabhubana Gananaatya. He released his first album titled Maa Gojabayani in 1996. This album received a warm, positive response from audiences all around the nation and made him famous in this field. He has worked for a long time and has released over 200 Odia albums. His famous ones are Janha Re, Hey Priyatama, Manini, Kanya Kumari, Malliphula Gajara, Shila I Love You, Michhei Jhia, Premi, Sei Jhiati, etc. He is married to Saswati Acharya and is blessed with two sons.
