Sagar Shantaram Chougule was a Marathi actor born in the town of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Throughout his 38-year journey, he remained steadfast in his commitment to theater and his deep-rooted love for Indian culture. As a family man, Sagar was blessed with the constant support of his wife, daughter and mother. Together, they cheered him on every step of the way, celebrating his success and standing by him during the challenges of his career in Marathi cinema.
In a tragic turn of events, Pune became a city to witness a sorrowful chapter in Sagar’s life. On the 3rd March 2016, Sagar was performing a Marathi drama, “Agnidivya,” a powerful production that paid homage to the renowned social reformer Shahu Maharaj. During delivering a dialogue, a sudden and unexpected cardiac arrest struck Sagar. In a state of panic, although people carried him to an emergency hospital nearby, unfortunately, he had already taken his last breath by then.
