Ganesh Chandanshive was born on July 5, 1977, in Jalna in Maharashtra, India. He did his Master’s in Dramatics (Folk Theatre) and a Ph.D. in Marathi Tamasha. He has worked as an Assistant Professor of Performing Folk Art at the University of Mumbai. He currently works as a Theatre Artist, Actor, and singer in the Indian Film Industry, predominantly working in Bollywood and Mollywood. He derived skills of Maharashtra’s folk theatre from his father, Shri. Sampatrao Chandanshive. For polishing his skills further, he was trained by Dr. Rustum Achalkhamb and Shri Shahir Sahebrao Nandwalkar. He has also directed some Marathi as well as Hindi plays. Besides this, he has organized Tamasha folk theatre workshops in alliance with the Lokkala Academy, University of Mumbai, Government of Maharashtra, and National School of Drama, Delhi. Kanthank Sevabhai Saunstha awarded Ganesh with the State Level Kalaratna Puraskar.
