Jagdish Chavan

Jagdish Chavan is an Indian Singer and Actor who predominantly works in the Hindi and Marathi entertainment industry. He was born in the district of Nashik in Maharashtra. Jagdish Chavan comes from a lower middle class family and his father is a Taxi driver. At his mother’s suggestion, he auditioned for Indian Idol Marathi in 2021 and was selected for the competition.

Jagdish Chavan mainly performed devotional and pop songs throughout the competition. His family was so poor that they could not afford a TV and his mother had to watch his performances in their neighbor’s house. Despite his challenges, Jagdish Chavan managed to become the first runner-up of Indian Idol Marathi Season 1, which aired on Sony Marathi. Jagdish Chavan belongs to the Banjara tribal community and he wants to use his fame to set a good example to the youth of his community.

Jagdish Chavan is managed by the Talent Studio division of Sony TV and has gone on to perform at multiple music shows after the competition. He is also extremely popular on video-sharing and streaming platforms like YouTube where he has gained a significant following by posting videos of himself singing covers of popular songs and playing the harmonium. The singer has even tried his hand at acting and played a minor role in an episode of Arunabh Kumar’s award-winning TV series- ‘TVF Pitchers’ in 2022.
